A question I have received is about the name of this publishing house: Ninth House Moon. People have asked what it is referencing and what it means. Personally, this has to do with the astrology of one of my daughters. My firstborn arrived when the Virgo Moon was in the 9th house.
Perhaps I need to explain further…
In astrology, the placement of the moon in the 9th house of a birth chart holds significant meaning and can offer insight into an individual’s emotional nature, spiritual beliefs, and worldview. In fact, any moon placement holds significant information about the inner world of an individual. Your moon placement would be most visible to those with whom you are the closest. Additionally, each individual is unique and may express their placements in different ways, depending on their own life experiences and circumstances.
What Does the 9th House express?
The 9th house is traditionally associated with higher education, foreign travel, philosophy, religion, and spirituality. It is also considered the house of long-distance journeys, which can be interpreted as both physical and metaphorical journeys.
Learning, Spirituality, and Exploration
When the moon is placed in the 9th house of a birth chart, it can indicate that the individual has a strong desire to explore different cultures and spiritual practices, and to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. They are likely to be drawn to higher education, whether through formal channels such as university degrees or through self-directed learning. They may also have a keen interest in philosophy, religion, or spirituality, and may seek out opportunities to study these subjects in-depth.

The moon in the 9th house can also indicate a desire for adventure and exploration. These individuals may be drawn to travel to distant lands, seeking out new experiences and perspectives. They may also be interested in exploring their own inner world, through practices such as meditation or contemplation. With a strong sense of faith or trust in the universe, those with this placement believe that everything happens for a reason. However, this can also lead to a tendency to avoid difficult emotions or to deny the reality of challenging situations.
Gifting the World with Ideas
Those with the moon in the 9th house may also be drawn towards teaching or sharing their knowledge with others. They may have a natural gift for communication and may enjoy exploring complex ideas and sharing them with others in a way that is accessible and easy to understand.
Overall, the placement of the moon in the 9th house can indicate a deep emotional connection to higher knowledge, spirituality, and exploration. These individuals may have a strong desire to understand the world around them and to share their insights with others. However, it is important for those with this placement to be mindful of their tendency towards avoidance or denial of difficult emotions, and to work towards developing a more balanced and grounded emotional nature.

Why the Energy fits
Beyond the fact that this placement is my firstborn’s moon, this energy suits the type of works we wish to publish. The moon in the 9th house of a birth chart creates an individual drawn to higher knowledge, spirituality, and exploration, and who may have a natural gift for communication and teaching.
Our novels will describe the human experience as our authors and poets explore the range of knowledge within our spirit bodies. If you have a book within you that MUST be written, perhaps it’s time to get to work!
